THE WINNER IS...

Last week, we celebrated the launch of Rupert, welcomed The Bean Network for its monthly coffee morning, delved into finances with Lunch & Learn, enjoyed Julie-Anna's kick-ass podcast editing workshop and raised a pint of Guinness as an early nod to St. Patrick's Day.

We've got some Mill Street updates for you this week, including a new Weekly Digest episode, Wednesday's Purple Monster take-over and the winner of the Goofy Games.

This week, we're talking chicken satay, how our New Year's resolutions are holding up, what we did on the weekend and what's on at 1 Mill Street this week.

We also had an extra small, extra special guest this time!

The industry speaker for the evening is Phil Foxton.

As a time-served DevOps veteran, Phil has experience working with some of the world's biggest companies, including Raytheon, IBM and BAE Systems, as well as building teams for the likes of Atom Bank and Lloyds Banking Group. He most recently made the leap into AAA Games with Radical Forge, starting as Lead DevOps Engineer and ending up as Head of Operations, fostering a culture of inclusiveness and well being whilst bolstering the team headcount by over 40.

Phil is now helping and guiding Indie teams as they set up and run their own studios, consulting and advising through his business Fox Chicken Grain Games.

Register your interest HERE and we'll see you Friday!

£120 RAISED FOR COMIC RELIEF!

Putting the fun into fundraiser, we partnered with the team at Designmc to host round 2 of The Goofy Games. Up against the clock, participants had to complete a series of 6 challenges, and whoever completed the most challenges in the quickest time walked away with the top prize and, of course, 1 Mill Street bragging rights!

Your Goofy Game Champion is… Chris Timms from Endurance Zone!

Christ walked away with a shiny ego and a £50 Mill Street voucher for his achievements.

Our runner-up champion was Iain Macpherson, who left the games with a bottle of prosecco.

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved in our Friday Fun(draiser) and helped us to raise £120 for Comic Relief.

In response to the widening digital skills gap intensified by COVID-19, Deloitte has committed to donating 7,500 laptops to schools, charities and community groups.
